[unknown artist]: Adolf Hitler being squeezed. Cartoon froma French newspaper in reaction to his 47th birthday on April 20, 1936. American press photo taken from the French original. Size: 23 x 18 cm. Good copy with slight traces of age.
Stamped number RSC 76473 on back, also an Associated Press newspaper cutout: "While Herr Hitler on his 47th birthday reviewed in Berlin the reich's greatest military demonstration since the war, there arrived from overseas cartoons indicating how his neighbos view him. Here is a Parisian cartoon, in which France, England, Italy and Russia are putting the squeeze on Germany." Interesting historical document, though the judgement proved to be terribly wrong.
